The Annual Career and Professional Development Conference Sponsored by Microsoft

On April 12 - 13, 2018, EduSerc will host the Annual Career and Professional Development Conference sponsored by Microsoft and a host of other corporations to support workforce pipeline development for youth and adults. This event is designed to educate upcoming professionals about how to develop a career in various industries and how to enhance their professional development skills in the process.

Over 100 students from schools in the DMV (DC-Maryland-Virginia) area will be in attendance for this two day conference that has been hosted since 2003. Corporations such as Microsoft, Navy Federal Credit Union, Northrop Grumman, Stratford University and others will be hosting workshops, one-on-one networking sessions and industry competitions to showcase innovation and creativity.

On Thursday, April 12, the conference will focus on professional development with workshops on professional etiquette and strategies to earn a high salary in a job. Participants will have an opportunity to network in one-on-one sessions with professionals and receive hands-on training in robotics, culinary and other areas that they will engage on the second day.

On Friday, April 13, the event will concentrate on career development with workshops targeting Engineering, Information Technology, Business & Finance, Broadcast / Media and Culinary Arts. In the afternoon, students interested in participating in industry competitions will have a chance to test their skills in cooking, software programming and business development!

This event is open to all adults and secondary schools to attend. Schools can also attend and bring buses of students to engage in one of the best professional and carer exploration events in the area.
