This is the culminating conference and event for all EduSerc students in the DMV and students arriving from Chicago. Professional development and networking (prep for presentations) are on Thursday. Career workshops and competitions (final presentations) are on Friday.

About The Event

NOTE: I will send a template letter you can use for your school principal to let them know your child is a part of this experience for Thursday and Friday. You will receive this letter by Sunday, April 7, 2019

Planning for the ACPDC conference (April 11-12, 2019)

As you know, All IPLD students are required to attend this event to present their final projects to our board of directors, sponsors and other stakeholders for the end of the year program. To assist parents in planning accordingly, below depicts all information for you to be aware.

Agenda: Thursday, April 11th

PIckup (8am): Students in Prince George's will be picked up at PGCC at 8am (as usual in Parking Lot F) to attend the event. The conference begins at 10am. Since the conference is a short distance from our regular pickup point, we've asked that the Montgomery County parents to drop their students off at the Microsoft Building (5404 Wisconsin Ave. 7th Floor, Chevy Chase, MD 20815). Students can arrive as early as 8:30am for the event.

During the Day (10am - 3pm): The ACPDC event is from 10am - 3pm. Students will be with us and we have lunch for them. This is the Professional Development part of the conference, where students will need to dress up on the first day (no EduSerc shirts). They can bring their projects with them to setup their tables and they can practicetheir presentations and do any final touches in the afternoon of the conference. They need to bring any USB drives or other items they need to hook-up to the screen to test their presentations so things go smoothly on Friday. If they have any project boards, cooking preparation, etc. they can do all of this on Thursday. We will have rooms for them to keep their materials until Friday.

Students will stay with us until 7:00pm to get setup for the IPLD dinner at P.F. Chang's

**Evening IPLD Dinner @ P.F. Chang's (7pm - 9:30pm):** Students and parents are requested to register for the P.F. Chang's dinner for parents and their child on Thursday evening from 7pm - 9:30pm. Students Leave with Parents from P.F. Chang's: All parents will need to pick up their child from P.F. Chang's, since this dinner is only for IPLD parents and students planned for the evening. There will not be a bus taking students back to PGCC on Thursday evening.

During the Day (10am - 3pm): This is the Career Development portion of the event where students will present their final presentations in the afternoon after lunch. There are workshops in the morning and a luncheon for the students as well. Students will need to be ready for their presentations.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All students need to dress professionally for the second day as well, however, they MUST bring their IPLD shirts with them so we can take a group picture with everyone at the conference in their IPLD shirts. There are many restrooms for them to put on their shirts.

Dropoff (5:30pm): Students in Prince George's will be going back home on the bus (like normal) and will be there by 5:30pm at Parking Lot F at PGCC. Students in Montgomery County are to be picked-up by their parents by 5:30pm. The conference ends at 3pm, but we will be there until 6pm.

There is no Saturday activity or IPLD meeting. This is the last event for the current school year.

Dress Code: Tnursday - Professional Dress & Friday - Professional Dress, but bring your EduSerc IPLD Shirts (priority) for group pictures.

IMPORTANT: Please bring all supplies and items for your presentations and competitions on Thursday.
