About The Event

This is our last IPLD experience for the program year, where students will explore one of the nation's top scholars program (UMBC -Meyerhoff) and receive entrepreneurship training at Howard Community College.

UMBC

Students will have one of the best interactive experiences ever with EduSerc!!!  Our IPLD students will meet first-hand with the President of UMBC (Dr. Freeman A. Hrabowski III) and learn about being admitted to one of the nation's top scholars program (The Meyerhoff Scholars Program).  This is the best interview opportunity for any of our students in the IPLD program, so we highly recommend that you RSVP experience, since we saved the best for last!!!

Students will experience the following:

  • UMBC / Meyehoff Session
  • STEM Activities, Conversations and Lunch with Meyehoff Scholars
  • Campus & Lab Tour
  • Meyerhoff Family Meeting with Dr. Freeman A Hrabowski III, President of UMBC

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Due to the importance of this last experience as an interview experience, EVERYONE MUST WEAR their EduSerc Shirts and professional pants, dress or shoes for this experience (No Jeans or Tennis Shoes).  This visit will serve as an informal interview with students and staff at UMBC that want to recruit you for one of their top programs.

During this visit when we are sitting in rooms interacting with Meyerhoff staff or the President, you must take off your jackets and showcase your EduSerc gear in all pictures and videos!  IPLD will serve as a direct recruitment arm for this program to ensure all of our student's success toward admission to top scholar programs in the future with this visit.

Howard Community College (Business/Entrepreneurship)

Students will have an opportunity to tour one of our best entrepreneurship programs and receive industry training on being a CEO and presenting their Shark Tank type ideas to professionals.  We will host a tour of Howard Community College and have an opportunity to talk with other staff members about their business center.

Students will experience the following:

  • Campus Tour of Howard Community College
  • Training on Entrepreneurship Presentations from HCC

NOTE:  The point of contact on the day of the trip is Justin Johnson (cell - 443-896-6128)
