Responsibilities Of Being An EduSerc Member
As a member, your service to the community is essential to the development and advancement of youth in our nation. By joining, you will be known as an Educator Serving The Community. As such, each member is expected to participate in the following fashion:
Serve on a committee or a focus group:
Committees:
Many committees require little time, such as performing mailings or spreading the word in the community about EduSerc activities. Whereas others require a substantial amount of service, such as business development and conference planning. Our preference is to have members serve in areas where their skills and interest go hand and hand. Below is a list of available committees:
- Conference Planning
- Membership
- Finance / Fundraising
- Program Development
- Academic Relations
- Media / Public Relations
- Marketing / Advertising
- Community Involvement
- Corporate / Government Relations
- Business Development
- Administrative
Focus Groups
Focus Groups help steer the organization’s programs and activities. By administrating sessions, gathering different types of groups together and surveying the public, your efforts will help the organization gather meaningful community-based statistics. Your service can be on a national or local affiliate scope. You can choose a particular issue in the community or inustry and coordinate your efforts with other Focus Groups.
Vote
One of the important duties of a member is to vote on key issues. As member, you can also vote for nominees of the Educators Serving the Community Awards every year. All voting opportunities are vital to the growth of the organization.

How To Participate In EduSerc Committees and Focus Groups
When you fill out the membership form, you will have the option to select your committee and/or focus group. Check the appropriate box for the committee of your interest or check whether you want to form a focus /industry group within EduSerc.
Once you sign-up, you will receive an email from an appropriate contact to hel you with serving on a committee or developing a focus group.

About Joining An EduSerc Affiliate
When you join EduSerc, you have the option of joining through a particular affiliate. You will start to receive information about activities and programs associated with that specific affiliate.
If you want to become a ‘member at large’, select “National Member” on the membership form. You will receive general information about activities and overall items involving the general membership.
