School Chapters

Schools, colleges and community organizations can start a Young Innovators Chapter to help them achieve their career, professional and workforce development goals. 

Chapters are formed by electing officers, an advisor and recruiting members to help spark interest and excitement in their own career growth.

Young Innovators Chapters work within the constitution and by-laws of EduSerc and are provided with quality resources to help them receive industry training, mentors and other opportunities to adequately prepare them for the real world.

Ideal for Supporting Student Government Associations / Career Counselors!!!!

About Young Innovators

The Young Innovators Program is a hands-on initiative designed to provide individuals with hands-on experience, technical knowledge and career opportunities in a variety of fields while demonstrating their value to the community at-large.  Individuals work with industry mentors to gain real world knowledge and design projects to challenge their own level of creativity and leadership skills.

Objective:  To educate, train and prepare individuals for career and professional success.

Goal:  To develop a robust mechanism for career, professional and workforce preparation for schools, businesses, and the community.

Target Audience:  K–12, College Students

Starting An EduSerc Chapter (The Process)

Selecting an Advisor

Each chapter needs to designate a chief advisor to be the main point of contact with EduSerc and the students participating in their chapter.  The school should select someone that has the passion and time availability to receive the support and resources from EduSerc while managing their chapter.

Minimum Time Commitment (Advisors):  8 hrs / month

Support Role:

• Serve as a chapter liaison and support formation of chapter (ie. officers, members)
• Attend quarterly training sessions to receive chapter assistance and resources for school
• Support student activities and projects & coordination of resources from EduSerc
• Coordinate students to attend the annual Young Innovators Conference (late Fall)

Identify Potential Students

The next important step is identifying key students to serve in your school.  This can be challenging at times or easy depending upon the advisor or school.  But, your approach to marketing is the key.  EduSerc will train advisors how to market and advertise to students after incorporation. 

Complete The Chapter Incorporation Form

Complete a chapter incorporation form and turn into EduSerc.  The registration fee must be attached when the application is submitted. 

It will take two (2) weeks to process your paperwork.  Once received, you will receive an email notifying you of its receipt and a follow-up email stating its progress.

Initial Chapter Training

Each chapter will receive initial training from the National Executive Director about running and maintaining their infrastructure.  Annual training occurs in August.

Activities / Responsibilities

EduSerc partners with you to organize and develop the activities for your chapter.  Our goal is to ensure every member is actively involved in their own career and professional development.  The following are standard activities of a chapter:

Young Innovators Magazine
