- For Immediate Release -

Wednesday, June 23, 2010 - Laurel, Maryland:

Today, EduSerc announced two new creative programs to solve problems related to all of the natural and environmental disasters occurring in the world and the continual dire need for more engineers in our country:  The Disaster / Recovery Engineering Project and the Super Hero STEM Summer Training Program.

EduSerc’s Disaster / Recovery Engineering Project is scheduled to kick-off at the end of June 2010 - August 2010 with over 54 high school students being trained on college campuses at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), the University of Buffalo (U of B) in New York, and The University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida.  For over 14 years, EduSerc has been working in the community to train students about various career industries.  This year, EduSerc takes it a bit further to place their hat in the ring for solutions to our world’s most interesting problems, becoming their most dynamic STEM training initiative yet.

Featuring engineers that hold and/or currently pursuing their Masters and/or Ph.D’s in Engineering  as well as an engineer originally from Haiti, EduSerc believes it will have an answer to reacting to tragedies and implementing preventative solutions.  EduSerc’s focus will be the following areas of engineering:  Environmental, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Computer and Aerospace.

“We are committed to saving lives and saving the planet”, said Brian K. Smith, Executive Director and Founder of EduSerc.   “Our focus is to continue educating the world while inspiring students to become engineers in our summer training projects.”

For over 6 years, EduSerc has been implementing complex engineering initiatives to train middle and high school students for a future career in engineering.
