EduSerc (pronounced “ej-u-serk”) stands for Educators Serving the Community. EduSerc is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization that dedicates itself to the development and advancement of teenage youth. Founded in 1996, the focus of the organization is to strengthen the middle and high school student community by providing them with the skills and education necessary to compete in mainstream corporate, collegiate and social environments. EduSerc's purpose is geared toward motivating youth to pursue their future goals by helping them create endeavors and proactively pursue opportunities for themselves. To aid in this development, EduSerc sparks student interest by facilitating interaction between youth, parents, colleges and businesses.
Brian K. Smith, EduSerc's founder and an active leader and scholar, demonstrated excellence in academics and extra-curricular activities during his high school years in Maryland. Throughout his collegiate career, Brian served in many leadership positions in organizations serving his school and local community. In maintaining his focus, the younger community kept his interest as he pursued his goals. Formed as a result of his mentoring and tutoring experiences, EduSerc has flourished into an exceptional organization to benefit teenage youth.
The members of the organization are a mixture of college students, young professionals, business/organizational employees and business owners. EduSerc's initiatives and programs are designed to expose its members talents and education and to highlight them as role models for high school students.
