To those not familiar with her music, she is one of Washington, DC’s premier female vocalists, who southern sensibilities and urban approach to music make her a likely ambassador for the DC music scene.
A Maryland-based singer and songwriter by way of Ivor, VA, Tamara Wellons is proof that a little southern charm will get you far in the big city. Singing for as long as she can remember, Tamara has performed throughout the DC metropolitan area and was recently featured on www.garageband.com as "Track of the Week."

the many sides of Tamara Wellons are apparent in her live shows and debut EP, "introducing...Tamara Wellons." Whether paying homage to standards like "Fly Me to the Moon," espousing the poetic offerings of Rumi's "Spring Giddiness" or reflecting on life with originals like, "Finally" and "Ferry Ride," Tamara's refreshing approach to music is both enlightening and entertaining.
With her combination of jazz, R&B, and soul, Tamara is able to take the listener on an audio v oyage that warms the heart, stimulates the mind and reminds us of what it means to live and love.
