Gigi Barnett CBS - WJZ 13 Baltimore News Reporter   Gigi places a professional touch on a classy occasion. Since 2004, her delightful personality and positive spirit keeps the audience alive.  This year, Gigi is invited back along with Marcus Johnson to continue promoting the value of educators in our country.   Gigi Barnett joined WJZ Eyewitness News as a general assignment reporter in October, 2002. A native Floridian, Gigi began her career at the Miami Herald. After a few years in print and public television, she decided to follow a career in TV news full time. She's covered the nation's capitol for the Medill News Service. Gigi covered general assignment and health news for TV3 in Dublin, Ireland; becoming the first black journalist to work for a commercial television station in Ireland. Gigi's last stop took her to Mobile, Alabama where she covered education at WPMI-TV. She was also an adjunct professor at the University of South Alabama. Gigi received her B.A. in Mass Communications from Clark Atlanta University. She also has an M.S.J from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, where she was the first Hope Bartlett Scholar. When she's not in front of the camera, Gigi loves to read, teach step aerobics and participate in community service events through Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
